Looking Grim.

I can't help but think that this week is looking a bit grim....

WHY THIS WEEK IS LOOKING GRIM:
1. Eric is away on the MTRL fieldtrip to Hamilton and T.O. until Saturday and I miss him something fierce!
2. The girl at the hair salon dyed my hair a horrible shade of black/blue/green. God dayam I could have done that myself!!! I swear I asked her for blonde streaks!! Anyway, hopefully they'll be able to fix it tomorrow. This depresses me; but if it stays black I'll go as a witch for halloween.
3. I have to spend tuesday morning with DONGSHENG, this chinese Grad student who is doing our mech tests for our pipeline project. It's a bit hard to understand him and things tend to take waaaay too long for an impatient Amber....
4. My stomach is KILLING me Like, ALL the time. I don't know what's wrong with the dayam thing but I am going to see about having it removed.
5. We almost got evicted from res already.... it has something to do with us making arnold swartzeneggar noises in the wee hours of the morning. If we get one more point then we're good as homeless!

anyway life is good otherwise and I will be sporting my German Beer Maiden costume for halloween this year. KLINGEL!

jajajja!

I'm 25 now! And very spoiled indeed, as Eric managed to find for me my favorite Paul Simon records ever and take me to LUMIERE!!! A dirrrty french restaurant in Kits AHON HON!!! We had a fantastic dinner.. it's very difficult to leave a place like lumiere when you could have Gaston bring you cheese puffs, bread, foise gras, nougatine, etc hour after hour... and of course with every round of food you simply must order a fresh glass of wine to match. Ahhh the French really have things down pat: eat eat and eat and drinky drink drink!
but anyway not much time to write... midterms are on this week and there is much to read. boo!
I mostly just wanted to convey my birthday stokageness and wanted to say that I posted the cali pics in case anyone is interested, hopefully ill have time to narrate 'em later!

workin in a coal mine, goin down down down!

Happy Turducken Day! We had a lot to celebrate this year at the Hepler Hotel! For one, project Turducken was a fantastic success! The Heplers are truly magical men in the kitchen. Eric's family and various friends came out for the spectacle, while Mom and Christine also blessed us with their presence, making for an incredibly happy time!

Other good news that recently came up: Eric decided to go with Elk Valley Coal for his 8 month workterm this January! Besides the fact that he would start at $70G after grad there, this is exciting because I recently interviewed with them for a position beginning in May. They will be flying me out to the minesite before Christmas to meet the engineers and tour the site. Fingers crossed!
The other option that has been presented to me recently is grad school, so that may be a good back-up....although I am having trouble determining why one would want to go through another year or two or poordom like that. Regardless, the ultimate plan to be a rich asshole with Eric after grad seems to be coming together nicely.

Oh yeah other news: Heather visited Friday and John Praskey from Kingston showed up this week!! He already fits right into the BC scene... the guy doesn't waste any time!

So congrats to my lovely coalminer Eric, and Happy Turducken Day to everyone else!
