Monday, July 10, 2006 Things are so very blissful lately that I cannot contain my perma-grin! I just had a fantastic weekend- my three best girl friends came out from Edmonton (Heather), Vancouver (Sani) and Campbell River (Katherine) for some Stampede tomfoolery. The weekend involved much catching-up, silliness, drinking, goofy hairstyles, and traditional music. The playlist involved the standard Beatles' "Bungalo Bill", The Traveling Wilburys, and Katherine's recorder jams. She's really getting good on that thing! We spent Saturday mumbling around the Stampede grounds, and planned to see Nelly Furtado on Saturday night. While in the rediculous crowd for Nelly, we came across three little native girls who had lost their cousin. Thus we took it upon ourselves to get them out of the crowd and onto our shoulders to see the show. Luckily, at the end of the show (right when our shoulders were about to give away), their cousin arrived. Although their evening started off pretty shitty, they ended up having an awesome time and so did we. So aside from that happy story, I am happy because I am in love (after 1.5 years with my Eric!)! And my car works! And Eric made me my first delicious crab! And I get to see my first rodeo next weekend! AND.... ERIC AND I ARE GOING TO NEW YORK! The city, of course. We are booked to go over Labour Day long weekend and stay with his aunt Fredzie in Manhattan. I'd like to see a baseball game, a person with a Bronx accent, and a Broadway show. Eric would like to see a Jewish Deli, an Italian Mobster Restaurant- anything that involves eating good food, really. Anyway, I just thought I'd provide an update and say hello! Happy Stampede week to those of you who are partaking, and happy week to everyone else! |
