Amberations

It's rough out there. I spend a lot of time walking the 6km to and from work in this cold Calgarian weather; just letting it hit me as I dodge spaced-out drivers focused on their right turns. Lately find myself at a complete loss as what to say with regards to the spiraling insanity beyond my front door.

My being at a loss for things to say is a sure indicator that something is awry in Amberations. Currently I think that something is my state of mind. I'm bored. But all is well, you see, as I have so many wonderful things happening to me in the next 6 months to save me.

Eric
Eric accepted his gargantuan offer from Imperial Oil, and will be starting his dream job as a Lubricant Specialist (BAHAHAHA!) August 27. This means he will also be in Calgary, cozying up with me in a stylish, food-filled apartment somewhere! No more long distance!

I got a leave of absence from work this week for May 14 through August 17! Eric and I are going travelling for the summer! So far we plan to travel to Italy, France, Amsterdam, Germany, Czech Republic, Greece, Switzerland, Russia, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Egypt, Peru and possibly rural Mexico. Mom is going to join us for the Greece leg, Billy (Eric's Dad) may join us in Japan, Ching will be in Greece and Cambodia while we’re there, and Dan is interested in coming to China. The more the merrier I say!

Christmas
Christmas presents make me feel kind of yucky and shallow, but I do enjoy the family time that the Christmas season brings! Eric's Aunt Rach & uncle Chuck are coming to stay with me mid-December, my Cimarron company gonging is fast-approaching, and on December 20 I head back to sweet sweet BC for some suppers and fun times at the Hepler and Adams Hotels.

Anyway, work is nuts busy but I just thought I'd update and remind everyone to stay the hell away from pedestrians while driving. Just don't go anywhere NEAR pedestrians while driving. Thank you.

One down, 5 to go

The Remembrance Day long weekend this year was also the weekend that Katherine married Chris!

Kath is now the first of my highschool-girlfriend clan to be married, and although it was all very unfamiliar to witness at first, by the end of the ceremony I knew her choice was right. I cried and cried because she looked so beautiful and Chris looked so proud and dashing, and they were so sweet repeating their vows to one another, locking eyes, squeezing hands, excited for the future, sharing their happiness with all their loved ones... sigh... I am going to LOSE it if/when Heather ever gets married.

Anyway, in case you don't already know, my highschool bestest girlfriends consist of (see picture, clockwise from upper left) Heathy, Kath, Kim, Me, Erin (aka Sani), and Kersti. I think that Heather is next on the marriage list and Sani is last on the marriage list. Heathy is first because I just know these things, and Sani is last because she doesn't ever want to be married, she says.

Heather already has it all planned out. She will have people sit in canoes instead of chairs, and her first dance will be to Rasputin by Boney M. She might even wear a babushka.
