Kahn Can

Here is the newly updated travel plan. I am interested in input (i.e. comments from those who have been to any of these places, or heard things about them, or even suggestions for other places, etc.)

OR, if you've always wanted to go to one of these places- pick one and join us.

- Italy for 2 weeks
- Take ferry to Greece (possibly going through Albania)
- Meet up with mom in Greece, spend a week there
- Travel to Turkey (with mom) and spend about a week there, say goodbye to mom
- Fly or boat to Egypt
- Fly from Egypt to Hong Kong
- Hong Kong to the Phillippines
- Phillippines to Cambodia
- Cambodia to Japan
- Japan to Mongolia
- Mongolia to Russia
- Russia to Amsterdam
- Travel from Amsterdam through Germany (JA JA JA!)
- Travel through Germany to France (A HON HON HON!)
- Fly out of Paris to return home (yee. haw.)

Eric is getting me especially stoked on Mongolians. Genghis Khan ruled the largest empire in the world! And according to a sketchy genetic study, 8 percent of the men living in the region of the former Mongol empire carry y-chromosomes that are nearly identical.
Then I read that Khan's eldest son, Tushi, is reported to have had 40 sons, while his grandson, Kubilai, had 22 legitimate sons and added 30 virgins to his harem each year.

I'm willing to bet that those identically Y-chromosomed men are of Genghis/Tushi decent...
